ground penetration no matter what

ground penetration no matter what

i am using maya 2011 and when i start recording my 4wheel drops on the ground but the wheels penetrates it about 1 inch.
i tried increasing the ray multiplier but it didnt work, any ideas?

Is it a highpoly object or the dummy object which intersects the ground? Is the ground sloping?

Please make sure that the wheel mesh has not been modified. If you scale the vertexes on the mesh but keep the transform untouched you will get a mismatch between the visual and the simulation. the simulator uses the scale of the transform to determine the size of the wheel, not the mesh itself.
