Old Tutorial

Post by edthehobbit » Thu Oct 15, 2009 8:11 pm

Hey guys. I remember a tutorial that used to be available on YouTube (or on the old Craft site) of a setup in Maya using the spline speed controller and 4Wheeler in autonomous mode to create a basic race circuit. It also ran through a few of the camera tools, and I thought it was a pretty good overview of the entire vehicle workflow. Is this tutorial still available somewhere?

thanks

Hello Ed,

I think it might have been removed from Youtube because Craft Spline Speed-Controller has received a lot of updates since so we didn't want to show the old version. Have you looked at the new video tutorials we've added?

Yeah, I've actually watched just about all of the new tutorials now. I liked that one because it followed the entire workflow, from spline to vehicle to cameras. The end result was an excellent example of just what kind of result you can get from the system, and it made a good reference when I was convincing my university to buy a license of the software.

Now we're looking into getting more licenses in the mid-future, and I was hoping to still have that tutorial there just to see some in-editor results.

Ed,

I've uploaded the clips I believe you're talking about temporary to our site:
http://www.craftanimations.com/tasks/si ... ontana.mov (236 MB)

http://www.craftanimations.com/tasks/si ... ontana.mov (302 MB)

For anyone else reading this post, the tools used in these two clips are outdated. To watch the current version of the tools please watch the clips on our site or on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... E0679921F1
