Odd Issue when importing 3ds file in Max 2010

Hi there

Hopefully this will be a quick question - I've setup a 4wheeler rig - and all seems to work etc. I wanted to put a terrain in the scene but when I import the 3ds file in Max2010, the 4wheeler tree in the CDT window disappears. Is this something to do with layers? Or what is the correct way to import additional geometry?

Or do I just XRef the terrain?

Madcap, I haven't had any time to try this (that Craft Director Studio would turn blank on Import) but Merge should work without any problems. Try that and let me know how that turns out.
