Bump in the road (literally)

Post by ddustin » Mon Jan 30, 2012 8:14 pm

I have a project where I am driving a Tractor trailer down a segment of road.
4Wheel extended and trailer with extra wheels is being used..
There is one spot where the Tractor Dips for some reason.
We are using a spline speed controller as well.
I have:
1. Added geometry to try to smooth it out
2. Removed geometry (completely flattened it out in the area yet it still dips).
3. Removed some of the way points that follow this area as well as precede it.

Nothing changes the behavior in this spot (I did raise the area as if there was a big bump in the road and it would follow the bump as expected).
Has anyone run into this before?
Thanks.
David

OK, we figured it out.
There was not an actual bump in the roadway.
It happened to coincide with a way point on the spline speed controller.
That particular way point had a more aggressive deceleration value than it should have which resulted in what appeared from the inside to be a bump in the road.
It was in fact an abrupt deceleration...
Hope this helps somebody..
