4-Wheeler Ext. How to switch to front wheel drive or AWD

Post by alexxru » Mon Oct 11, 2010 10:04 pm

Hi,

I have a basic question but couldn't find an answer on the forum or in the manual.
How can I change it to be an AWD or a front wheel drive?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I am sorry to say that it is not possible to set it to be a FWD or AWD. I understand that this is mostly of interest when driving "hard" and when skidding and at burnouts. To make it more looking good in the acceleration part I would suggest to edit the suspension.

Hi,

I need to animate a take off on a front wheel drive car with spinning wheels.
Thanks,
Alex

You are always able to add an "animation offset". What you do is to add two meshes (any type of meshes) and place them in the center of each front wheel. Make the meshes child objects of the WheelMesh_FL and WheelMesh_FR. Then make the high-poly wheels of your model children of each corresponding newly created mesh.

You should have the following tree: high-poly/mesh/WheelMesh_FL
What you now to do in order to make a spin on the front wheels is to add keyframe rotations to the meshes during the time you like for them to spin.
