Car Crash WIP
Hi,
I used the free 4wheel to make the initial animation of the driving mustang. Then at the impact point I used reactor cloth to deform the car and turned the craft rig into a rigid body sim. The engine cover is hand animated and the debris is with rayfire and animated with box#2.

I need to add more fracture and parts falling off, as well as smoke and another camera angle..
Isaac.

Re: Car Crash WIP
That looks great Isaac! I'm excited to see the final results.
Re: Car Crash WIP
Thanks! The craft tools were sure a huge time saver to get the driving motion believable and it was relatively easy to use that rig as a rigid body simulation after the crash point. I'll keep updating my progress here.

Re: Car Crash WIP
Awesome!
Re: Car Crash WIP
Thanks!
I'm not that happy with the lighting of the scene, but I can live with that. Re-lighting and rendering time is a factor I don't have now..
*edit* is there a free ver of the helicopter plugin? The demo I have installed has 4wheeler and airplane as free.

Re: Car Crash WIP
Nope. With all the time and research that has gone into creating the Craft Helicopter tool, it's too advanced to give away for free. Just giving away Craft 4-Wheeler Free hurt a lot from a developer point of view, hehe.dreamie wrote:Thanks!

Re: Car Crash WIP
I just did a quick forum search for "car animation" and I came across this thread. Especially for two years ago, this animation is outstanding. Way to take advantage of your resources and make a compelling project.
