Maya anim on path (autonomous)

Hi,
I can not figure it out how to "say" the anim should start imediently after the record is activated. I made some tests but every test starts randomly so I can not say I need an anim over 240 frames and start on 0. The begin of moving is not predictable. It is very important when other actors are also animated in this scene.

In the manual I did not find any documatation about this.
What do I wrong?

Hi Dag,

On 4-Wheeler Extended you are able to set the Initial Velocity (% of max) and thus have an initial speed on record. It is slightly confusing that it placed under "read only".

Hi Patrik,
I made a try, but when I set the parameters it will get disabled as soon as I klick the record button.
I saw here very good examples and I wonder how to make this. There are foe example an video NASCAR where ar many cars and I can not imagine it was driven by hand.

Sorry for the late response.

You need to have a fresh rig for it to work as it takes in previous animation in to consideration. Clone it via CDS and you should be ready to go.

Another problem users usually face with using the Autonomous mode is that the 4-Wheeler Extended is going to slow to keep up with the target. The reason for this is that it is restricted by its parameters to go any faster. You need to raise the "Gas Pedal (Forw/Backw) Maximum" (= Maximum velocity) and maybe also the "Gas Pedal (Forw/Backw) Response Factor" under Input Property Parameters in the 4-Wheeler Ext configuration to make it accelerate faster.
