Request on the upcoming Workshop in LA

I got a invitation mail regarding the Siggraph Workshop at Sheraton Los Angeles. From what I can see, Luigi should hold in a workshop using advanced features in Craft Animation's Craft Director Tools on Thursday, August 14.

09:00 am - 10:00 am Advanced Rigging Techniques - Rigging a modern tank with threads
10:30 am - 11:30 am Advanced Autonomous Techniques - Car chase
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Lunch Break
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Advanced Camera Techniques
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm Advanced Autonomous Techniques - VFX Airplane (from the movie Get Smart)

Sadly I can´t afford to visit the show due it´s in LA and not in Sweden where I live...

My request and hope is that the show/workshop is being filmed and dokumented. Then, after the show, release it as a DVD for us to buy. Autodesk usaly film their workshops and those DVD can be bought after the show.

This would be a very good idea I think, so please think about to do that for all of the people who cannot be part of it. I would pay a lot for a DVD like this and I think many will!!!

Regards
Stefan who is sad to miss this!

Hi Stefan,

I will forward your request to Lou.

If we film the workshop I don't think we would sell DVDs. We would probobly upload the workshop movie to our homepage instead so that everyone can watch it. :)

thanks for the tip!

Thanks Patrik :D
I really hope that Lou will be willing to do this, it would be a great moment for all Craft users out there. And to give away the DVD/movies for free, well, good thing of course but I am sure of that people will buy it to, at least I would, no questions asked

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to join us in LA for the workshop. But I love your idea of recording the workshop and we will do our best to get that done. I promise to send you the first copy for suggesting this great idea.
All the best,
Lou Badju

Thanks for being so patient. The tutorials are finally on my BETA page!
(These tutorials are not supposed to be "nice", only practical. However, they reveal some really useful tricks of the trade, so be prepared to learn some juicy CDT stuff :D)

Hello Luigi

Wow, this is so fantastic, I have downloaded all you have on your page and I must say that this is very good videotutorials. You say that these tutorials was not supposed to be "nice", only practical but hey, they are really nice, great videosize, good sound and you are a very great instructor aswell. Nothing to complain about, nice work man :D

I hope that my idea of filming this was not to bad 8-)

Hope that you continue to upload some great stuff at your page!

Thanks again!
Regards
Stefan

Great to hear that you like the material Stefan  Now that there is a good pipeline for recordings I will output tutorials of all sorts of tips and tricks there quite often.
ps. by "nice" i meant that the tutorials are not professionalized, meaning I make some errors here and there and do not care to correct it. However, I know pro animators actually like such tutorial errors since then you can see were you could do wrong yourself since errors are part of trial and error (of course ).

Racy :) Keep up your excellent work mr Cheshirsky!
ps. do you perhaps have a tutorial to share (or link to) on the mudtrack creation (which you used in your sweet'n'funny tankvid)?

Hello mr Luigi! :)
Excuse me, but my lammer English sometimes prevents me to understand ideas of the interlocutor correctly. Are You meant this "mudtrack"?

If I'm right, any lessons on this theme at me are not present, but I have very ancient plugin (probably still ancient Autodesk itself :D ) for creation of traces for some seconds. This 3dsmax plug-in absolutely free, it called Sisyphus Software MAXTRAX II and it is rather simple in training. I tried it in max-versions 9-2008, but I think in max2009 it will not work.
In archive with the plug (just put a dlo-file in plugins folder) also there is very accessible manual.
You can download this archive here -> http://rapidshare.com/files/144392500/m ... 9.rar.html

I looked at the site and it seems they have closed their development. Too bad.
Thanks for the tip though!

Hey guys,

I did find a 3ds Max 2009 version of this plugin (32 and 64): http://rs476.rapidshare.com/files/14410 ... x_2009.rar

It's in the maxtrax_Max2009.zip folder.
