Do you guys know how to merge scene with prepared car into another scene without having to link all the objects again ?

Re: MERGE
As far I know you have to link up your model again after it´s merged into another scene. Maybe you can merge the other scene into the Craft scene?
Also, instead of posting 4 different questions on the forum, maybe you can put all of your questions in one post?

Re: MERGE
Posting all in the same place would not be a good idea for the reasons that each question is unique.
Having them all in one place will not give me any as much reply as i would get if they are separate.

Re: MERGE
If you have a model that is rigged and the parts are linked/parented you are able to merge this model with max own merge function. But remember that you must merge all the parts. If you miss out a part then it does not work. If you miss out some part you should get an error message.microbious wrote:3dsmax

I have a scene with nothing but a single car body + 4 wheels
everything linked and working correctly and i still cannot merge it into a new scene
It will merge everything but the plugin will not be able to animate it unless i saved PRM file and i would have to browse for it
and link all objects again (i would also have to delete the old once including cameras)
I am not trying to merge animation into another scene, i am trying to merge a prepared car.

Re: MERGE
Are you sure you are using the latest version of Craft Director Tools? I suggest that you download the latest one and reinstall Craft Director Tools.
If you are trying to merge older files you may need to resave these before you are able to merge them. The merge functionallity was implemented about 2 monthes ago.
Here is a video I did with merge today:

If you still are having problems I would need info on witch version of max and windows you are using. Please specify if you use are using 32bit or 64bit as well.
best regards

Re: MERGE
To add to what Patrik is saying, as the merge feature was added in one of our latest updates of Craft Director Tools, if you're trying to merge a scene that you've rigged in a previous version of Craft Director Tools it will not work. This is because that old rigged scene has not been saved with the proper data needed for the merge feature. But this is easily fixed by just opening the old rigged scene and re-saving it with the latest version of Craft Director Tools.Patrik Martin wrote:Are you sure you are using the latest version of Craft Director Tools?
