Crashing on Record

Post by ruddiger52 » Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:19 pm

Anyone have any idea why my file would be crashing as soon as I hit record. it only happens when I have a highres model in the file. It works once and awhile but mostly just crashes as soon as i hit record. Could this be a memory issue? I have tried 2 different workstations.

The first thing you can try is to download the latest version of Craft Director Tools (PC|MAC). We released a new version with some various fixes this holiday and maybe this issue was one of them.

If you're still experiencing problems after having installed the latest version, you can send your scene to support@craftanimations.com and we'll take a look at it.

I am having the same problem, unfortunately I can't send you the file because of the sensitivity of the data in the scene. Any other solutions.

btoovalian,

Please give me some information of the system you're using, computer specs, PC/MAC, 3ds MAX/Maya/Cinema 4D, 32-bit/64-bit, etc.
Also if you can, explain the process up until the crash. If you start with a new scene, create a sphere and parent it to one of our tools, will that also cause a crash? Is it one specific tool only or all tools?

I am currently running a dual quad core with 16gig of ram and fx4600 card. The crash usually occurs after I edit the spline and try to re record.

Hmm, very odd. Are you using 3ds MAX/Maya/Cinema 4D, 32-bit/64-bit? What kind of spline are you using? We have had some problems with splines in Cinema 4D but that problem should have been fixed.

Do you think you could remove the sensitive assets from your scene and save it as a new scene and send that scene to us?
