Re: Ps3 controller for maya 2010 craft studio 10.1.2

Hi Getsome, First you need to do is to check if the gamepad is compatible. For Windows, the gamepad needs to be DirectInput-compatible in order to work in CDS. However on MAC it's a bit more vague. Your gamepad needs to be supported by SDL to function with CDS, but there is no way of telling if it i...

Re: Landing an aircraft

Hi, Unfortunately, the airplane is not able to interact with the ground, and therefore cannot land. My suggestion is that you use CDS to animate the approach, and have the landing being made by normal keyframing. This is something we may develop support for in the future. However, crashing is not so...

Re: slow motion without slow-motion

Hi, Do you get the same result if just running with one 4-wheeler or a simple camera? (disable all the rest). I suspect you simply have a performance problem. Although we try optimize the software for realtime usage, there is a limit to what it can handle. I think you simply have too many tools bein...

Hi Thatch, I recieved your support email and i have answered you in better detail in that response. In short: I have verified the issue and it will be fixed on the next release. Please note: it is only the spinner representation that shows the wrong value; the actual value is still set and working. ...

Re: Out of memory crash

I suspect it is a memory problem. Even though it displays available memory, the memory may be fragmented and the software is having trouble allocating the sufficient memory size it needs. Basically, try limit the memory usage in the scene and try free up as much memory you can outside the host progr...

Yeah, me and Patrik had a talk after we both answered your post pretty much simultanously  And we noticed that this wasn't your first post. Apparently something isn't working properly with the authentication function and we'll have to take a look what's wrong. Anyway, it's more of a convenienc...

Re: another forum?

Hi Fonhorn, The reason why we need to authorize posts is because of problems with spammers. We are still quite a small forum and we actually get more spammers registered than authentic users. Therefore we were forced to lock down the posting. However, it's only your first post that needs manual auth...

Re: move simulation (frames)?

Hi, Unfortunately, you cannot move the simulation time. Either finish the recording, unplug and then move the keys. Otherwise i would simply recommend you to make the recording again, this time on the correct timeframe. Unless you have a very complicated recording, it usually doesn't take too much t...

Re: Camera Record

Hi, and welcome to the forum! To split your recording into multiple steps, simply deactivate the tools you do not wish to record. You do this with the key icon on the left hand side on the tool list. In your case, deactivate the sphere cam the first run (click the key to make it invisible), record t...

Re: Tracks for Crawler Extended

Hi Rex, This is usually caused by too much tension on the tracks. Make sure the tracks have free play between support wheels (they must not intersect anywhere at start) Also, make sure you have sufficient space between the ground wheels and the ground for room for the tracks. If you base the crawler...

Re: simulation based on real data?

There are several car simulation programs available on the market today, but none of them are even near a realtime solution. To make a perfect simulation of the movement of a car you would require several days of calculating before you can even see a result. There is always a tradeoff you have to do...

Re: Total letdown

Hi Angry, I have gone through your issues and i suspect you have encountered a problem with the 10.1.1 version of CDS. Which version are you running? If you don't have the version 10.1.2, i suggest you update your software to this version. The gather error was caused by a fault in 10.1.1 and has bee...

Re: linking issue? objects relocate to 0,0,0 when linking.

Hi Rich, Are you using the dummy object, or are you trying to relink the chassis only? Remember that the highpoly objects never contains any animation, only the dummy objects does. To have reactor applied on the car, you need to apply reactor to the dummy objects and use them for continual animation...
