Re: ground penetration no matter what

Is it a highpoly object or the dummy object which intersects the ground? Is the ground sloping? Please make sure that the wheel mesh has not been modified. If you scale the vertexes on the mesh but keep the transform untouched you will get a mismatch between the visual and the simulation. the simula...

Re: 3d connexion space navigator not recognized

Hi, and welcome to the forum! There are two things you need to check: First, after loading the profile, do you see that the input devices have been properly binded? You should see it in the input list that each property (move forward, yaw, etc) has a text mentioning space navigator or similar. If it...

Re: Best controller for 10.6.4 mac?

Please make sure you have SDL installed on your mac. It may be that it failed to install correctly during the CDS installation.

Please check www.libsdl.org and download the runtime library for mac. Then try run Maya again and see if it solves your problem.

Re: Trailer and ground Possible?

Hi Eddyvh, welcome to the forum! May you be parenting the ground and gravitymesh the wrong way? It is true the trailer's gravitydirectionmesh is parented as a child of the trailer chassis by default. Simply re-parent the trailer's gravitydirectionmesh to the ground instead. And to clarify: It's the ...

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

You are running a quite old version - Please install the latest version of Craft Director Studio, i'm sure it will fix your problems: Windows - http://www.craftanimations.com/tasks/sites/default/assets/evals/craft_director_studio_10.1.4.exe OS X - http://www.craftanimations.com/tasks/sites/default/a...

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

I am unable to replicate the problem you are having with the airplane. The file you specified loads without problem and i am able to both unplug it, create new one and save, without any errors.

What version of cds are you using?

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

Hi Synoptic, There is currently no built-in functionality to bake the animation automatically to the high-poly objects. you need to do that manually, or simply hide the dummy objects and have them follow the high-poly objects throughout the rendering pipeline. I am yet to look at your airplane probl...

Re: Tutorial: Rigging Craft 4-Wheeler Ext. in CINEMA4D

I guess you have already seen this, but are you scaling the dummy meshes using the Object tool? If you don't, you'll get the error behaviour you describe.

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

Hi synoptic, Use the slow-motion factor! Just scale the recording speed down so you have the time to maneuver. Otherwise you simply attach the Airplane's follow mesh to the the SSC carriage and enable autonomous mode in the airplane configuration. Note that you can still control the airplane somewha...

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

Ok, i have made a preliminary fix for the problem, just to get you back on progress. The final edit will be available with the next release of CDS. You need to update your spline-speed controller files. This is how you do this: Access our ftp server: server: gbg.craftanimations.com user: public pass...

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

Hi synoptic,

I have reviewed the file you sent me and verified there is indeed a problem with SSC. It rounds the spline position offset at some stage and since your spline is so large the effect gets very large as well.

This is a bug in SSC and i'll see what i can do with it. Please hold.

Re: SplineSpeedController Waypoints' position.

Hi synoptic, You do not need to snap the waypoint to the curve in order for it to work - it will simply travel to the point of the curve which is closes to the waypoint. So if you are experiencing the snap-to function to work improperly, try position the waypoint manually where you want it and the c...

Not right now, the only entry for CDS is through the utility panel. But it's a good suggestion and i'll see what we can do about it.

Re: Is it possible to pop a wheelie?

Hi Makkster,

Unfortunately the 2-wheeler is unable to do wheelies or other stunt moves. I know some customers have managed to rig the parts of the motorcycle where they could make the motorcycle do wheelies manually, but they mostly did it outside the scope of Craft Director Studio.

Re: Crawler tracks - track not turning

Hi Makkster,

Can you verify the drive wheel is really rotating throughout the animation? It may be that the track is stuck at some location of the thread, but that usually shows with the thread flapping in stress.

Re: 4wheeler not jumping

The 4-Wheeler Extended had a revision a few months back and unfortunately the jumping capabilities had to be reduced. It interfered too much with the "normal" behaviour of the 4-wheeler and therefore the decision was to remove (or actually adjust) the jumping capabilities and improve the driving beh...

Re: Extra wheel causing Maya fatal errors

Good to hear it worked out. Is it possible for me to get a copy of the scene you had earlier for study? Even though we don't support parenting constraints,it still shouldn't crash like that and i would like to take a look at it. Let me know if this is possible and i'll PM you the information to uplo...

You are quite correct you should use simple parenting instead of parent constraint. Let me know if you still experience problems and we'll look into it
