Re: Max 2019

Hi Dietmar, We are currently developing CDS support for 3ds Max 2019 and to solve the 3ds Max 2018 bugs. However, with that said we are quite far behind as we are reworking the backend. We are more or less forced as Autodesk made changes to 3ds Max in 2018 that affected CDS. So, I’m not able to give...

I do have Maya 2018.5 installed. Could that be it?
Just to double check. The parenting of other objects (non Craft Director Studio) stay intact?

It might. We need to have a closer look on our side to check. I’ll let you know if we need anything additional.

Even if I create the treads it doesn’t save the cds meshes parenting.

Not matter what I do it will not save.
Just CrawlerTracks or any tool?

Re: Saving Crawler work

No, you are not on your own. The issue regarding support is that we operate during weekdays and not weekends. Anyways, no this should not happen. If you have parented a tool to another it should still be parented even after save/open. Does this issue only happen with CrawlerTracks? If so is it diffe...

Re: Craft director maya fatal error

I use Maya 2017 and the same error. Tried after reboot but still the same error. Any suggestions? Thanks Hi WarnerDib, Are you able to describe in step by step how you get this error? Does it happen if you create a new scene and just one tool and hit record it crashes? Does it happen with any tool?...

Re: craftdirectortoolsadaptor_3dsmax2015.gup failed to initialize error

This is what I was thinking as well that it had to do with the VS-redistributable. However as Micael said it is included in the latest version of CDS so should be alright there.

Re: gravel shake general prop vs input prop

Which one of those two ways do you recommend, Patrik? Or is it all the same? It depends. First of all in either case I would always have a small value on the "Gravel Shake Offset Value" under "General Parameters" depending on what fits my animation on the intended terrain I drive on. However, if yo...

Re: gravel shake general prop vs input prop

So, yes they are creating the same effect. There is two ways of applying gravel shake effect to the rig. By adding a value to "Gravel Shake Offset Value" under "General Parameters" or By using an input device (or in conbination) Gravel shake just now = Gravel Shake Offset Value + Gravel Shake Amplit...

Re: Problem with overlapping mesh ground

Thanks I Will send another scene shortly. heavy scene problems (unfortunately cannot make it simple. even isolation does not help) If one car is recorded and I have another car chasing it. After the second car is recorded it ends up in front of a chased car. Not sure if CPU just cannot create keys f...

Re: Problem with overlapping mesh ground

Hi dv2000, I tested the scene and I can not find any problems with it. Are you able to make a recording with the issue and send? Also, take note that the 4-Wheeler Extended simulates tyre pressure and might therefor look like it is under the ground. It might be that you need to turn that off. //Patrik

Re: Can a car rig input be other object position?

Well, it depends on the type of lawnmower. We have clients that have used the 4-Wheeler to create animations for lawnmowers and I am pretty sure they did not animate them backwards ;) If you have one where the wheels does not turn just place a pair of ExtraWheels in the same place as the front wheel...

Re: Can a car rig input be other object position?

Hi Khams, In theory you could just rig the stroller in the opposite way on the 4-Wheeler Extended, make the turnbase be 4-Wheelers rear wheels. Then push with the use of the target mesh, however this is quite hard to master as the 4-Wheeler will behave as it would like to avoid the target mesh. But ...

Re: Going faster in a helicopter without loosing control

Just an update rescaling keys by 50% make helicopter stutter especially when camera follows it. I guess there is like an overlap of camera in a certain position in space and scaled keys of a helicopter making it stutter. The other option that I see is that you can render less frames per second or i...
