Re: Crashing on Softimage 2012 sp1
Woah baby I'm pretty sure I found the issue. CDS does NOT like a second display being active on my system. I disabled my second monitor and haven't had a crash yet.

Re: Crashing on Softimage 2012 sp1
Tried it on another animators box and it still crashes. This time it happened why we scrubbed the timeline. Really hard to tell if this is a Soft issue or a CDS issue.

Re: Crashing on Softimage 2012 sp1
Thanks Patrick. I'm going to try it on another machine just to make sure it's not a localized hardware or software issue.Patrik Martin wrote:Hi Simonv,
We will have a look at it and see if we get the same result.
I need to get this sorted before I can buy a license

Re: Crashing on Softimage 2012 sp1
After more testing it appears that with a totally fresh CDS scene with nothing but the rig it crashes less frequently, probably about 20% of the time but I can still reprodice a crash simply by recording driving animation.

Crashing on Softimage 2012 sp1
The latest version of 4 wheeler extended is crashing almost 90% of the time in XSI 2012 sp1and sap after recording an animation. It's pretty tough to tell what's causing it at this point. I'm glad I tried a new demo because we were just about to buy a license :-/ Any tips? It's strange because Soft ...

Re: Softimage keyframes not set to linear interpolation
Yup that was me actually ![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
This is a different problem however. Unfortunately the keys written by craft default to sppline interpolation in Softimage and not Linear so it would be great if there was someway Craft could default to writing Linear in future versions.

Re: Controllers not working
I went back and cleaned out all the controller drivers I had on my system and did a fresh install of the xbox controller drivers and now everything seems to work fine. It was probably the stupid ps3 3rd party drivers that were conflicting with the MS ones.

Re: Softimage keyframes not set to linear interpolation
So the proper step to working around this issue is to set anim preferences to linear interpolation before capturing.
Like I said in my other post it would be handy to have this documented especially for people like me who aren't as well versed with the fcurve editor![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: Softimage wheel rotation curves not right
I consulted powers smarter than I on the XSI list and was told I could fix it by enabling 'make rotations continuous' in the softimage f-curve editor.
Maybe this should be noted in the CDS documentation.

Softimage wheel rotation curves not right
I've found another problem with how Craft writes rotation keys in Softimage which is especially problematic on wheels. On the mesh item _4WheelerExt_01_WheelMesh_FR for example, which is the ittem I parent my wheels to. The Rotx channel should show a continuous increase in rotational value i.e. star...

Softimage keyframes not set to linear interpolation
Just a heads up to the Craft devs. When craft sets keyframes in Softimage on every frame it's using spline interpolation when it should be using linear interpolation between keys. With spline interpolation you get subframe tension and it messes with motion blur. It would be cool if craft could lay d...

Controllers not working
Hi there, I'm trying out the 9 day demo of director studio with Softimage 2012 and 2011in win 7 x64 and so far everything is pretty slick with one exception. I've been unable to get the windows xbox controller we have working with craft. The hardware is installed and craft's controller setup recogni...
