Re: VrayPhysicalCamera
Hi there Manny. First I will cover Max, then Maya. This is more tricky than is explained in the video, true true. As you mention, the reason being that Vray does not have an equivalent of FOV. It is very unfortunate that Max does not allow for the focal length to be wired and therefore it is a bit m...

Re: Skid brake locks'em up
As of now you can't, but it has been put to the features-to-add list. As is the drifting feature.
The non-immediate locking is also a good point, added!

Re: Wheels don't obey under/over steer
I would use the wheelRelocators to manually add animation to the wheels. Give it an initial keyframe just before you wish to change the animation, add keyframes along the timeline, copy the the initial key to the end to return the wheelRelocator to its original orientation/position.

Re: Tire tracks display
caching yes, hehe.
Right, so cache is an operator in the particle view. I actually think there is a cache operator in the "event" already, only it is turned off. If so turn it on, else add a cache op and try if that solves the problem.

Can't remember if the particle cashing is turned on or not. That could solve the problem.

Re: Velocity does not seem to respond to terrain
Hi.
Not difficult at all, but there are sooo many things being devloped right now that it is difficult to it squeeze right now. It has been on the the todo-list for quite a while, but perhaps we can prioritize it since quite a few customers have asked for this feature. We will discuss this.

Re: Spline speed controller Vehicle problem
Hi David. Yes, this issue was discovered very recently and therefore it is being fixed as we speak. Until it has been remedied there is a quick fix for it. Go into the input settings, and then to the steering wheel input, and click on advanced. Here you you simply change the offset to 0.1 or somethi...

Re: Slowing down a SIM
Robert. Yes, these are the two basic ways of changing the vehicle speed. First: simply use the graph editor: 1. Select all parts of the 4wext. 2. in the graph editor select all objects in the left tree 3. Click the Frame All button and then select all keys 4. right click in the curves window and sel...

Re: Animation of the Dune Buggy?
Hi foorever! The Dune Buggy has as its basic tool a "next generation" CDS addon. This generation is under heavy development but is only in ALPHA (ie not even BETA) at the moment and will be for at least another 6-12 months. We use this very video to pitch the concept to larger studios. The addon is ...

Re: fixed axis possible in 4-wheeler?
Hi mowax.
A quick fix for your wish is to use an ExtraWheel and attach it to the WheelCenterMesh, and then use the extrawheel instead of the 4wext wheel as your dummy.
Also check out the "BETA versions" sections in this forum to give the axis' more flexibility.

Re: Wheels spinning backwards
Yes, this should work just perfectly. The reason is simply that when the speed of the car increases your wheels rotate more than half a turn between each frame, so when you check the rotation frame by frame they "rotate backwards", however if you temporarily increase the fps after a recording you ca...

Re: Presets for Cars ?
Hey Brox This sounds like a major systems breakdown. The car works perfect and is production proven in countless situations. You could try reinstalling the system, and then you should also try installing the beta version which you find in the "BETA versions" pages in this forum. Follow the instructi...

Re: Animation jitters
My guess is that you either have too stiff suspension or that your Maximum Forward/Side Tilt Angle are to small. The cars also seem to drive too fast for that particular road. You could also try using the latest version of 4wext found in the BETA versions page: http://forum.craftanimations.com/viewf...

Re: crawler tracks
It's very simple, align and then parent/link your trackpart step to the blue templateStep, this will automatically create copys next time you press record.

Hi.
The latest BETA version (see "beta versions" in this forum) of the 4-wheeler extended also solves this problem, however if you use this latest version your settings may have to be adjusted.

Re: crawlertracks get launched upon (re)simulation
In physics simulation increasing the fps is the same as telling the simulation that the world moves in slow-motion.
So if you crank up the fps temporarily, say 10 times, you should be able to control the missbehaviour.

Re: Track of tank not touch the ground
I would suggest you first record everything but the tracks (there is a slight bug we are fixing with delays in hierarchies). Next you uncheck everything and only check the tracks and hit resimulate. Next, since this is physics, you need to tweak the flaccidity parameter to get it right. Carl's sugge...
